Moong Daal Shorba - Step By Step See How To Make

Moong Daal Shorba 

An Indian soup of spiced lentils, both healthy and tasty

    • 1/2 cup moong dal(yellow dal) - cleaned and washed 

      1/4 cup chopped onion 

      1 tsp chopped ginger 

      1 tsp chopped garlic 

      1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera

      2 tbsp lemon juice 

      1 tbsp butter 

      green chillies - chopped 

      coriander leaves - chopped

      1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi

      salt to taste


    Mix together moong dal, chopped onion, ginger, green chilies, turmeric powder, salt and chopped garlic. 

    Add five cups of water and boil it. 

    Simmer for fifteen minutes, till the dal becomes soft, removing scum from time to time. 

    Blend the daal mixture and strain. Keep aside. 

    Heat butter in a pan, add cumin seeds. 

    Sauté till seeds splutter. 

    Add pureed dal, and bring it to a boil. Adjust consistency by adding water if desired. 

    Add lemon juice and garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot.
